Dear Parents

I will take this opportunity to thank all our parents for their input into this terms activities at school.

Aside from the production, which has been our focus for the last part of the term, there have been lots of sports and school events, where we have appreciated your support. We look forward to Term 3 and hopefully some warmer weather.

We farewell Mrs Russell who is taking maternity leave and welcome Mrs Teviotdale into Room two.

Also we farewell Logan, Mitchell and Hunter Thompson and Henry Mason.

A reminder the PTA will be providing the children with a sausage in bread tomorrow for their lunch. The canteen will remain open.

Our prayers are with the Reitsma-Smith family this week.

Production ~ Moving On

A big thanks to all the children for their performances on Wednesday & Thursday night last week; there were some very tired but happy children at school last Friday.

A big thanks for all the parent support we received, both in the lead up and especially on the night.

A special thanks to the parents who assisted in the creation of the costumes and sets – they were brilliant.

Also thanks to the helpers on the night backstage, Liam and James from Verdon College who controlled the lighting, and the parents who packed everything up afterwards.

Thank you to John Sievwright from Sievwright Auto’s for sponsoring the printing of the programmes.

Achievements

Laura Boniface won the ‘Most Points for Under 7yrs’ last weekend after getting placed 1st and 5th in the Highland Fling, and a 3rd in her very 1st Irish Jig.

Congratulations to these boys who had an excellent term in the Table Tennis competition, especially Harry McLean & Damian Mitchell who made the final.

Registrations for Round 2 next term are now open. 2 players required for a team @ $25 each.

If your child is interested, please see Mrs T-K in Room 8.

Room 6 Class Happenings

What a lucky person I was to be able to sit in the audience and watch the production. It is remarkable to think that every child gets the opportunity to be on the stage and be ‘a star’!!! It has been interesting listening to the children and hearing what they had to say about the whole experience. Below are some of their wise thoughts.

The best thing about the production was watching the other people do their dance or part. I loved being on stage with my friends and with my class too. I started to giggle - it was embarrassing. Next time we do a production I want to be one of the main characters. Piper

The best thing about the production was being on the stage and acting in the production. The dancing was good and the people cheered for us as we were performing the production. Next time we do a production I am going to wait and smile at the audience. Devan

The best thing about the production was that I did not fall down. The “Hey Baby Jump Jam” got better every time. Next time we do a production I will be confident. Caitlin

After such a busy term we are all looking forward to a well-earned rest. A reminder:-please can you check that your child has the correct equipment to start the new term with: 4 pencils, a red pen, a ruler, a rubber and a glue stick. The holidays are always a good time to sort through the pencil cases and throw out the felt pens that no longer work.

Also, have a look at the Room 6 blog which can be accessed through the school website.

Many thanks for the support you give the children. The progress they are making is very pleasing.
