Dear Parents
The end of the school year is fast approaching and the classes are
busy finishing off units of work and carrying out end of year assessments for
our reports to parents, the Board of Trustees and the Ministry of Education as
part of our Annual Report systems.
As this information is being collated, it is moderated for
consistency across all classes and we look for “blips” in individual results or
trends across a cohort of children i.e. Year 4 girls.
Ministry policy dictates that Boards focus on all children’s achievement
but target especially on Maori, Pacifica and children with Special Education
needs.
We are looking to collect new data from parents as to their expectations
for their children. This could be in the form of a survey, meetings or 1 – 1
interviews. We will be seeking some direction from parents as to the best way
to get as much coverage as possible in the next couple of weeks.
Congratulations to the following pupils who will receive the
Sacrament of the Eucharist on Sunday: Lucy Baynes, Shaun Clapperton, Aidan
Dudfield, Joshua Henderson, Oliver Hogan, Joshua Newell, Kate Russell, Mya
O’Connor, Aubrey Page, Sarah Phillipson, Summer Smith, Megan Sullivan, Maiya
Tagomoa-Kaa, Tanesha Tagomoa-Kaa, Nicholas Walsh and Anika Winders.

~ Class Happenings ~ Pet Day
Wow, we had lots of fun
today, during our 'Pet Day'. Thank you to everyone who could come and
join us. We were very lucky with the beautiful weather. The children were very
excited to share their pets with one another and loved seeing all the other
animals at school. The excitement built as the children saw each other in their
house colours when they first arrived at school. We got to go and see all
the amazing cakes that lots of people decorated and shared with the school.
Next we had house relays, with lots of jumping over and around hay bale, and
even crawling under big tarpaulins. After lunch the pets starting
arriving at school and the real excitement in the children was very easy to
see. Lots of children from Room 1 received prizes for their pets and
cakes. Well done Room 1.
Lost Glasses
Declan from Room 1 has lost his glasses. We would appreciate you
