Pastoral Care

  • Relationships
  • The school is a friendly, welcoming, co-operative learning environment where the dignity of each person is repected.

  • Safety
  • The school provides for students and staff an environment that is safe – physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually, culturally.

  • Behaviour Management
  • Discipline processes are just, compassionate, respectful and consistent.

  • Cultural Awareness
  • The school is open to the enrichment of diverse cultures.

  • Organisation
  • Pastoral Care is organized in a way that is evident to all members of the school community.

Help Required
The Junior school is looking for 1 or 2 people who could help with the putting away of reading books.  We have also purchased some new books that require processing.  If you are able to help, please see Mrs Buxton.

FAITH  FACT FOR WEEK 6 ~ Social Service

Social Service is giving direct aid to someone in need. It usually involves performing one or more of the corporal works of mercy. That is, giving alms to the poor, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick or imprisoned, taking care of orphans and widows, visiting the shut-ins etc. Another name for it is charity.

Room 8 Class Happenings

Character Descriptions

Firstly we had to visualize our chosen person and think about the best way to describe them so that the reader may make a picture in his or her mind of our chosen person.  In the first paragraph we focused on the physical description and paragraph two was all about how that person acted and spoke.
Below are samples of character descriptions that were the focus for our narrative writing.

Short, dark, brownish hair that hangs below her shoulders that sways side to side when she walks.  The smooth skin of her face shines from her foundation.  Skin soft like the stuffing of a soft pillow.  Little brown freckles that slowly fade away.  Brown sparkly eyes that sparkle like crystals on a winter’s night.  A small pointed nose that is just the right size.  She’s always got a nice cheeky grin on her face.
A soft voice that can be deep when she’s angry.  Small, wavy earrings that shine at the top.
She wears long tops and long skirts.  Paris

White hair that looks like the foam of two waves.  Eyes that twinkle when he laughs.  A nose that looks like a mountain.  A smile with wrinkles on each side of his face.
He likes to wear a brush cotton shirt and a pair of ruined old jeans that always have holes.  He always wears slippers around the house.  Josh

Short, brown hair covers his round head.  Brown eyes twinkling like diamonds in the sky.  He has a small button nose and his mouth is wide when he smiles.  The eyebrows on his face are big and bushy, and his neck is hairy.  The clothes he wears are always very dirty when he comes back from work.  Sarah

A shiny, round, bald head shone like the golden goose and his golden feathers.
Eyes sparkled like the big, bright sun or the sparkly night time moon.  His nose looked just right.  Ears poked out like branches from an old wobbly tree.  Mouth opened just like a whale trying to eat a shark.  A nice long neck that bends when he walked like a clown.  You could always see a nice straight back that looked as hard as a rock.            Benjamin

Shiny hair that curls all over her head, long when she does not have a hair tie on.  Eyes like diamonds.  Her face looks like silver when she goes outside because the sun shines down on it.  Her smile is really big when she laughs.  Her skin is smooth and shiny like a whiteboard, the colour of a light caramel.
                                                                                                            Kade

Curly ginger hair covers her head like stacked hay bales.  Brown eyes shine like diamonds in the night sky.  A strong clear voice echoes across the room as she speaks. Laughter fills the room when she is happy.  A smile that looks like a banana is always on her face.  A straight back when she walks. Tanned skin covers her body.   Enthusiasm always fills her body.            Breyah
