Sacred Heart School Newsletters

14 April

Dear Parents

It is hard to believe tomorrow is the last day of Term 1.
It has been a very busy term with swimming, athletics and summer sport.
Also for most of the term we had builders here working on the veranda.
Next term will be our school production “Moving On“ to be held on July 6 & 7th at Centrestage.
Well done to Conor Riley – 2nd in the 10 yr Boys Discus and Alex Wright – 2nd in the 8 yr Boys 100m at the Southland Athletic Champs recently.
Also to Rohan McKenzie who made the Southland Touch Team.

A big thank you to the parents, who have coached, managed, supported or transported children at sports, academic or cultural events during the term.
Thank you for your input into the school interviews this week.
The on-line booking system seemed to work ok and there weren’t a lot of hold-ups. This is really helpful, as some teachers had over 8 hours of interviews.
If you have any comments on how we could enhance them in the future, please contact me at principal@shsinv.school.nz

This week we welcome Keara Paraki, Cole Robertson and Antoinette & Margaret Mendoza. We hope they enjoy their time at Sacred Heart School.

Our prayers are with the Dawson family.

The Great South Artists’ Network has asked the students of Sacred Heart School to be involved in a community art project for the Southland Arts Festival being held 29 April—22 May 2011.
The students in the Senior Syndicate created 3D ‘Funky Chickens’, hens or roosters.
The Funky chickens will be on display in shops and venues in Invercargill over the next two weeks. Look out for your child’s piece of art. Below is a photo that shows some of the work produced.

Room 5 had to full the marble jar up for their wish of a
Pyjama Day to come true.
