Car Park & Netball Courts
You will note some new signs in the car park regarding the drop off zones and no right turning. This is a follow up from Room 9’s survey in Term 1 on safety in the car park.
Our aim is to speed up traffic flow, especially after school.
Please support us in this endeavour.

Whenever possible we encourage the children, especially older boys, to be outside and active before school. Please be aware of flying objects on your way into and out of school.

Please let Christine know if your postcode is different from 9810, so we can update our files. Thank you.

School Fair ~ 7th November Please Read
The fair committee needs all families and friends to start collecting second hand goods that may be suitable for our white elephant stall that runs in the hall on the fair day. If anybody has extra storage, that would also be great.
So please let the school office know or email pladams@xtra.co.nz
We still need the following:
Places to ask for prizes for the chocolate wheel ?
Are there any hairdressers in the school community who could advise on the funky hair stall ?
Does anybody have balloon animal skills ?
Does anybody have a harness we could use for horizontal bungy ?
Do you know of any school businesses who may be interested in sponsoring a stall at the fair ?

Room 2 Class Happenings

For our inquiry this term we have been finding out about magnets. We have found out that they stick to most metal things - but not all metal, and this week we found out that the magnetic force works through other objects, like our finger, our woollen jersey, paper, and even Aiden's ear! We also found out that magnets can make other metal into temporary magnets, like the paperclips in our photo. Next week we will find out if magnets work under water. Here are some of our stories about what we found out about magnets.

Ben is magic and I was magic because I was moving the magnet on my ear. The magnet went through the plastic to the paper clip ~ By Aiden

The magnet stuck through the tissue. The magnet stuck to the metal paper clip. The magnet stuck to the chair ~ By Azriel

The magnet stuck through Cookie Muncher¹s blanket and it was cool. I felt like it was magic inside my tummy. I like it ~ By Lucy

The magnet did not stick through the sand ~ By Scarlett

The magnet stuck onto my chair. It stuck through the leader ribbon ~

Aiden got an earring because the magnet stuck a paperclip to his ear ~
