Entertainment Book Fundraiser
Families should now have an order form and information from the Entertainment Book that was sent home yesterday. Please have a look at the details about the voucher book, go online and find out more or view a copy of the latest book in the school office. If you, or any of your friends or family, would like to buy any, please return your order form as soon as possible to the office.

Please note the books cost $50 each and will only be given out when payment is received at the office by Mrs Forbes, who will then either send them home, or give to you directly. For every book sold, you raise $10 for the school. Payment can be made by cash, cheque (payable to Sacred Heart School PTA) or credit card. If needed extra credit card payment requests are also available at the office. Any questions feel free to call Susanne Brown (PTA Chairperson) on 2158883.
Thanks for your support ~ Your PTA

Chess Club
Our first Monday lunch time chess session was a huge success. So much so that we don't have enough chess sets! Some children already knew how to play chess and others are just learning. If there are any unused chess sets at home that you are no longer using and would like to donate, we would love to see them. Thank you ~ Mrs Stupples

Room 8 Class Happenings

This week The Flakes reading group have been reading about how Anzac Biscuits came to be.
We learned that ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corp. We also learned that the wives and girlfriends of the Army troops made Anzac Biscuits because they can be kept for a long time and were made out of oats so the men didn’t get hungry quickly.
Today we decided that we would have a go at making the biscuits ourselves.
Everyone in room 8 got to taste them and so did some of the teachers, they were delicious!!!
Here is the recipe so you can have a go at home 

ANZAC BISCUITS
1 cup flour

1 cup caster sugar

1 cup desiccated coconut

2 cups rolled oats

125g butter

2 tbsp golden syrup

1 tsp baking soda

3 tbsp boiling water
1. Heat oven to 180°C (160°C fan bake). Line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
Place flour, caster sugar, coconut and oats in a bowl and stir to combine. Make a well in the centre.
2. Place butter and golden syrup in a saucepan to melt, or microwave in a bowl to melt. Dissolve baking soda in boiling water. Add melted ingredients and dissolved baking soda to dry ingredients and mix to combine.
3. Roll spoonfuls into balls and press onto prepared baking trays, allowing space for biscuits to spread while cooking.
4. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to a wire rack to cool, and enjoy!
