30 April

Dear Parents

Welcome to Scarlett Meikle who joined the children in Room 2 yesterday. We hope Scarlett enjoys her time with us at Sacred Heart.

Thank you to all the parents who were able to come to the parent interviews this week. A lot of time and effort from staff and your children went into their preparation and we have been pleased with the initial feedback. If you were unable to make an interview time please contact your child’s teacher.
If you have any feedback please contact me at principal@shsinv.school.nz

Room 2 Class Happenings

We have had a busy start to Term 2, with new children joining our room and lots of learning happening. We have been learning about writing letters, remembering that all letters should start with ‘Dear ___’ and finish with ‘From ____’, so that the person knows who the letter came from!

We have also finally finished our book ‘The Wishing Chair’, by Enid Blyton. The children have loved having this read to them each day and we are eagerly waiting the arrival of a new Wishing Chair book. While we are waiting we have done some artwork showing our favourite part of the novel.

Entertainment Book
The PTA continues to offer families the chance to purchase the Entertainment Book that was sent home this week .This book can be returned to the school office if you don’t wish to purchase it. Some families have taken the opportunity to buy the book for great discounts. However please take the time to check it out as we feel it’s good value for families and easy to save the $50 cost if used over several everyday purchases, while also supporting the schools fundraising. If you feel you would like to purchase the book please forward $50.00 to the school office with the form attached, Sacred Heart School gains around $10.00 per book sold.
Next PTA meeting will be Monday 3rd May at 7.30pm in the staff room at school. (Please note change of date)
Everyone welcome. Thanks ~ Your PTA
