Dear Parents
Welcome back to Term 2, we look forward to another busy term. Welcome back to Miss Kirkwood, and also to Shaun Clapperton and Khyla Matiu-Watson.
Our Inquiry topic this term is “Sustainability” and the value we will be concentrating on is “Integrity”.
With the seemingly endless increase in household costs – we look forward to what the classes may find out to help us save natural resources and money.
Thank you for ensuring your children are in the correct winter uniform.

BOT
Congratulations to: John Horn – Chairperson, Ian Harrington – Secretary and Diane Thornbury – Treasurer, who were re-elected at the BOT Annual Meeting.
BAPTISM
We intend to start preparation for children receiving the Sacrament of Baptism next week. A parent meeting will be held at school on 20th May at 3.00 p.m. to outline the process.
Could parents of children to be baptised please see myself or Miss O’Neill to collect an information sheet.
INTERVIEWS
Interviews have been scheduled for week 4, 26 & 27 May. Monday 26 will be a half day with the school closing at 12.30 p.m. Interviews will begin at 1.00 p.m. Interview time sheets will be placed in the junior corridor later next week.
A reminder these interviews are 3-way. Your child does attend.
ACTIVITY FEES
Activity Fees are in the process of being finalised and will be sent out early this term.
ASSEMBLY TIME
School assembly has been moved back to Mondays at 2.20 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend.
PTA ~ The next meeting will be held this Monday 12th at Jagz in Windsor at 7.30 p.m. Parents are most welcome.
A big thanks to the PTA for the purchase of a BBQ for school functions.

FR. VINCE SMITH – SCHOOL CHAPLAIN
Below you will see a brief bio from Fr. Vince who has received confirmation from Bishop Colin that he has been appointed our school chaplain. We look forward to Fr. Vince involvement in our school life.
Vince is the assistant priest in the Sacred Heart, Waikiwi Parish in Invercargill. He was ordained in Dunedin on 1st February 2008, after two years study in the Holy Spirit House of Formation in the Parramatta Diocese in Sydney. While in Sydney he studied theology at the Catholic Institute Sydney.
In 1996 Fr Vince retired after 13 years as general manager of the Southland Times. He cared for his seriously ill wife, and after her death in 1998, worked in several volunteer jobs. He worked for Habitat for Humanity, building houses and setting up their business model. He also worked as a helper at Calvary Hospital, and after the deaths of Fathers Thompson and Cashman, provided a service of the Word with Communion for the residents each Sunday. Fr Vince has three adult children and four grandchildren.
